SIPB Summer Tag

I recently joined a fabulous Sharing Inspiring Bloggers Facebook Group . I feel part of a community and I’m enjoying getting to know bloggers and blogs. I put it out there that maybe we could do a summer tag post. You know, just sitting around getting to know each other. I’m first so here are the questions and of course my answers. If your taking the tag link your post back to the SIPB Facebook Group. I’ll be over for a visit.

What is your favorite summer holiday destination?

I enjoy staying around home for the summer. Living in Canada our summers are not long. We have lots happening in the summer from festivals, events and of course sitting outside on patios with friends.

Favorite childhood memory of summer.

Playing hide-n-seek in the neighbourhood. I grew up in the city so it was back alley ways and parking lots. Our home base was a huge rectangular stone on the corner. Don’t ask me how and why it was there. It was and it was always home base.

Which do you prefer ice cream or frozen yogurt?

I have to say I prefer ice cream. I enjoy frozen yogurt and would so not turn it down. At the moment (heat warning here) I have been craving that soft serve ice cream.

What is your go to dinner on a hot summer evening? Feel free to share the recipe!!

I’m not a great cook at the best of time. Salads and maybe an omelette or egg/cheese on English muffin.

What is your favorite BBQ food!

Hamburgers. It is a big joke with friends if I am invited over that I just want hamburgers. Nothing fancy please just the burger.

A song/s that take you back to an amazing summer.

I had to leave this question until the end and wracking my brains. I enjoy music but for the life of me can’t think of one group or song I associated with summer. Saw Guardians of the Galaxy at an outdoor event a few summers ago and enjoyed the soundtrack.

How do you beat the heat in the summer?

I would normally say going to work but recently have had a few issues with the heat and air conditioning (AC) at work. It is fixed now but a few rough few days. I don’t have AC at home so I usually take it easy when I get home. Grab some water and sit and read for a bit to cool down before making supper or anything else.

Do you prefer swimming in the ocean or a pool?

I love the ocean. I love living by it, the smell of it and the sound. Basically the whole package. But…..I have a hard time swimming in it as freezing. Or at least to me. We have lovely beaches and yes people are out there swimming. Just not me. So I have to say pool to this question it if has to do with swimming. I prefer sitting/walking by the ocean and a pool to me is for cooling off and a bit of exercise. In and out basically not for to sit around.

What is your preferred summer vacation. Travel with family? Solo? or Friends?

Since I am staying around home for the summer I prefer it with friends/family.  Sitting on an outside patio for drinks/munchies. Our downtown is full of pubs and as soon as the summer weather hits they all move onto the sidewalks for extra seating.  We have a lovely waterfront that is also great for walking.

So flip-flops or barefoot?

I am a barefoot person. I don’t even use slippers at home in the winter. I love the feel of grass under my feet.

      1. Trying! OMG, 🙉 it’s insanely hot out here these days. It broke for a minute after a thunderstorm last night, but still no relief from the humid conditions. Stay cool and dry. 😘

      2. I know what you mean we had a new showers thinking maybe that will break the humidity. Nothing. Weather person here said we’ll have it until end of August with maybe a few breaks here and there. So stay hydrated – remember if you are thirty you are already dehydrated.

      3. I don’t have a problem drinking water. My issue is making sure I have it on my desk to drink it. I’m trying to get better at filling water bottle first thing when I get to work and starting from there.

That was a fun read! Love getting to know my fellow bloggers better. Thanks for setting this up, Amelia. I’ll be working on my post this week. Yay!

    1. Should be fun as questions are from other bloggers and a variety. Looking forward to finding our your summer play list, memories and of course if you wear flip-flops!!

    1. Loved your answers and I am really enjoying reading everyone’s take. I just copied your questions at the end of your post and did that to mine. Wasn’t thinking that clear. Happy Wednesday!!

  2. I can still hear the screams of delight when playing tag as a kid, until the inevitable happened and the delight turned to anguish when someone decided that it wasn’t fair that they got tagged all the time 🙂 Ocean for me or a pool by myself! Fun post Amelia.

    1. It was a fun post to do. I remember being out until it got dark in the summer. Was at the beach this weekend and it was the sound that captivated me more than anything.
