Regrets

Limiting regrets I have been working on for a long time. We all have them, and I imagine will continue to have them. I want to have less regrets. Especially over actions I have control over. At the end of the day I want to say I tried. If it works great. If it doesn’t, well now I know. I won’t have the regret of “should I” “could I”. I did, and now I learn from it.

This might not seem like a big deal. But asking for help is not one of my strengths. I would love to live overseas for 1-3 months. Overseas to me is Europe / UK. Money depending on length of time. So, where should I go? Do you have any recommendations? Anyplace you have been that is safe, interesting, relatively cheap?

All recommendations are appreciated. It is scary to ask, as this means I’m putting my idea out there. It no longer lives in my head. Could I make this happen?

My regret would have been not asking for help. Not putting my plan out there. To let it continue to live in my head. Maybe I won’t pull this off, but I have now started the journey. One less regret. Thank you.

  1. We find Spain to be relatively inexpensive and actually quite safe. We live in a small beach town and everyone is so friendly and willing to help out if need be. Perhaps because most of us are not from here. I have also heard that Portugal is inexpensive as well. Keep dreaming, it will happen.

  2. As I’m not a world traveler I won’t have suggestions where to go. I know this is something you have been dwelling on for a long time and I’m glad you are ready to investigate this further to MAKE IT HAPPEN. People will have lots of suggestions. Embrace them all, while it down to 5 you might be interested in. Then really study them and talk to people about. Then narrow down to 3 and so on.

this really intrigued me last week. Bergen, Norway. Lorne , who does travel reviews for Your Morning Canada was there with his partner. He says you can be as quiet and relaxing as you want or go into “town” to enjoy the highlights. He also said to take the 6 day cruise while there, the views are stunning.

    1. We are on the same page! Yes, to writing down all of it and researching. That is my plan this long weekend. Head to the library, grab a coffee an start looking. Norway looks beautiful. Thanks for visiting and commenting. I’ll keep people posted on the journey as feel researching is part of it.

  3. We toyed with living in Madeira in 2019 … we ummed & ahhed and then bought a house in England instead. Recently we have had itchy feet & in 2023 we viewed houses in the Pyrenees region of South West France … then circumstances changed again and we stayed put in England… but maybe it is just going to be a pipe dream for us but you never know ….

    1. So much changed after 2019. East coast Canada here – I would love to live abroad for a short period. UK or Europe. Even 1 – 3 months if I could make it happen. Right now trying new content. If thinking of travel to east coast Canada drop me a line!
