What does balance look like?

Having a balance of alone time and social time. The thought of a weekend of non-stop social time drains my energy just thinking about it.

I have to be off to be on. Social on Saturday. Alone on Sunday. I am a textbook introvert (I think!). I’m not shy. With the right mood and energy level I can work a room like an extrovert. BUT I have to be off first to be on.

Balance is my alone time and creating boundaries so I can get it. Talking on the phone for an hour is not alone time on a Sunday. That is draining. Balance is hard as peole don’t get it. Alone means alone no phone conversations. No neighbours dropping in. Alone.

My greatest need for balance is between social and alone time. Getting that balance is crucial for me to feel energized and me. To face the week ahead of people.

You can always start now!

Yes! I’m such an introvert as well, & I hate dealing with phone conversations & anything else in person. If you get a chance, come by and share your posts on Crafty Creators Link Party. It’s open Thursdays at 6am CST through Mondays at 11:59pm. I found you over on Esme Salon’s Link Party, and I think my readers would like to find you too. You can share on Happiness is Homemade Link Party and You’re the Star Blog Hop while you’re there if you’d like!
Hope to see you there. Have a great week!

I totally feel this. And this balance is hard to strike with kids running around, etc. I could chart the arguments I have with family, I’m sure, by seeing that I had too much social time before with no time alone. Vacations are tough, too, and I find myself staying up later than everyone else just for some quiet.

It is hard with kids as extra people to factor in and take care of. Yes to staying up later for you time. I think we have to grab our wins when we can. I find just going to a coffee shop at lunch time and sitting, making a list just centers me. Happy September and take care of you.
