What caught my eye in the past month

The first Monday in August is a holiday for us.  It always means that summer is speeding by! Below are a few things that caught my eye in the past month.

Apartment Therapy gives us 101 ways to be a good neighbor. It is divided into categories. A few are welcoming new neighbors, party mindfully and care for elderly neighbors.  Lots of great idea.

The title caught my eye wild wallpaper, colorful sofas and Leopard print stair runner  I enjoyed looking at the rooms but some where a bit too bold for me. What are your thoughts?

Check out boss babe chronicles for 80 productive things to do when your bored.

Top 10 Home Decor Trends for 2021

The Wonderforest gives us the top 10 home décor trends for 2021.  I think some of them were around before 2021, but always neat to checkout.  The one above I can see getting into. Number 1 well I’ve been into for years.

Always on the look for book recommendations so Wheelescapades gives us her year in books. Check it out you might find some summer (or season you are in) reads.

A beautiful mess is one of the blogs I check daily. It makes me smile as décor, crafts and food. This post was on creating that wave in Laura’s dining room.  This link will take you to the dining room before and after tour.

I’d be interested to hear how your decorating has changed in the past few years?  More color? Less? Minimalist?  Vintage? Lots of options!

You can always start now!

Great post! 80 things to do when bored is excellent. The bed and nightstand colour combo above is pretty. Like you I really enjoy home decor.
I’ve been having fun redecorating our apartment during Covid to create a colour pallet of cream,/beige, caramel, brown and sage green.

I used to have a lot of colour in my house. Then when we moved I went for pastel colours. I have my eye on a very colourful armchair that would brighten up our sitting room. I love that book shelf in your first photo. Beautiful colour!

I am not one to redo and redecorate. I have come to the point in my life, that we keep what we have and in fact, I am trying to clean out and make way this all the excess gathered over the years. Less is more to my mind at the moment, so I am giving away and donating as much as possible

Thank you for sharing this. I love the Apartment Therapy post, doing things for others and making others smile is so important more than ever after the tough last year we’ve all had. As for decorating, I wish it was something I was good at but sadly I don’t have a great eye for interior design. I am trying to live a more minimalistic life though! I look forward to reading more of your posts.

Thank you for visiting. Like I said decor is my eye candy. I think expressing yourself is what it is about. Other people don’t have to love your look – you do. Yes I’m purging and weeding through things also. Doing Project 333 for clothes.

LOVE that turquoise bookshelf in the top pic. I definitely lean more to bright colors the older I get–and get bolder about pattern, etc. The millennial pink color in home decor I’m getting tired of. Though I do think it’s a pretty shade for blush.

Bold colors catch my eye but not sure I could take a steady diet of it. I like pink but that pink room was too much for me. As an accent great. Always fun to look. Playing catch up from vacation last week. School starts here Tuesday. Tomorrow Sept 6th Labour Day Holiday. Hope all is well. take care.
