I posted stepping into the arena part 1 that I was starting a new creative journey. That lead me to thinking of a name for this journey. Something catchy and hopefully that would resonate with people. I wanted it to be along the lines of creativity. Creative Circle? Making it? These and a few more names raced through my head.
Chakra Society just came to me. Don’t ask me why or how. I don’t know a lot about them. I know they are seven energy centers in our body. The energy centers run along our spinal cord. The thing is I just couldn’t let this name go. It kept circling back and erasing everything else. So…I’m not fighting it, I’m going for it.
Chakra is a Sanskrit term and it means “wheel” or “disk” and is derived from the root word “cakra”. Chakras are spinning wheels of energy/light. Chakras have the loving responsibility of taking in, incorporating and emanating energy to keep us functioning at optimal levels.
I took the above definition and picture from Way to Zen. There are tons of sites and books on Chakra. I love the wording of loving responsibility, energy/light, incorporating, emanating and optimal. As isn’t that what we all want to be? Functioning as our best selves?
I’m intrigued over the idea that spots in my body have specific energy centers. Such as, loving healing, creativity and communication. What if I could use these energy centers to focus on being my best self? I figure it can’t hurt and knowledge is power.
So I’m taking the Chakra Society with me as I continue my journey of creating my best life. Learning more, experiencing more and hopefully finding individuals on this journey.
I want to create a place where we explore. So each month I’m going to put out a creative prompt. You can do it in secret, post it on your Instagram, blog about it or drop a line in the comments about your experience (want to include people who don’t have a blog but do have a love of trying new things and pushing boundaries).
If you have read the blog before you know I am trying to limit my regrets. This was one. Should I? Could I? What if it fails? What if…. Realizing we regret more of what we don’t do than anything we do, I am putting this out there. We will always fail if we don’t try and I think failure is part of the journey. Learning from it and moving on. There are no regrets in failure only opportunities. So to the Chakra Society and where it takes me and hopefully you.
You can always start now!
