A friend and I decided over pajamas, wine and appetizers to do a Christmas Instagram Challenge. In December we posted a Christmas picture for 24 days. My sister and a friend joined in. It was great seeing pictures and such a diversity of them.
So over the holidays we decided to do it again but for the whole year. Discussion ensued (OMG I felt like I am typing minutes when I typed that!) and the final decision was a picture a week and the same words each month.
The words would be broad enough to capture a wide range of ideas. We thought nature/growth could be a walk in the woods to a book you were reading. Thankful is just that. What are you thankful for this week. Week three what you have seen, experienced and/or what brings you peace this week. Last week is month. For that we want to capture what we feel is essentially that month i.e. January, February, March…. I hope you get the picture. What do you associate with January? Can you capture it in a picture? Same for April.
We thought it would be fun to do and weekly gives us time to not stress over it. Hopefully!!

Sounds fun. I’ve been out on IG more. Still don’t really “get” it–and don’t think a soul has ever clicked on my blog’s web address in my bio after, say, looking at a pic of my slippers. But, it is fun to share pics of everyday things–especially with those friends and family who’ve fallen off FB in recent years (just about when I joined FB–alas). Happy New Year to you and yours!

Instagram for me is fun and visual. I follow other bloggers and also travel sites that get me dreaming. Agree not sure if anyone has clicked into blog from site but okay. As long as I am having fun and being creative that works. Join us for the year and just have fun! NO overthinking!!

Have I missed your choice of word of the year? A woty as I believe it is known? You made me think of one for myself, it would be laughter, as I am known by those that truly know me, see me with tongue in cheek. Alas last year their was not enough. My writing err’s on the noir so I will try to lighten it occasionally, but laugh with purpose as I splash in puddles and envelop myself in adventure. I must remind myself how good a raucus belly laugh feeds the soul. Your Instagram challenge I will try but with its laughter theme lurking. X Have a great New year.

I love the word laughter – great pick. I struggled trying to come up with one and today I picked a card from my SHE deck and it was fierce. It reads “SHE Fierce reminds you to take heart, to show a powerful and heartfelt intensity. Head on, rummaging through life’s ebbs and flows, ferocious light. So this is my word as it picked me! To 2020 more laughter, more fierce and more joy.
