Stream of Consciousness Saturday – card

It is Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday. I’m excited to have the extra day off!

Head over to Linda G Hill for all the details on Stream of Consciousness Saturday and other writing prompts.  Fast summary: write, just write.

Cards – are they now only sent on special occasions?  Christmas cards? Birthday cards?  Even birthday cards are now sent electronically.  Who am I kidding I have received electronic Christmas cards as well. You know the ones. A winter scene that is slowly brought to life with birds, decorated trees and snow falling. I have to say I would give that up to open my mailbox and find an envelope with my name on it (not a bill) and a card inside.

You can always start now!

Ha, ha. Love this and it’s alnost one for #SoapBoxSaturday. Maybe we should get a bloggers mail link and do just that. Send blogging cards around the world to outdo bills 😂😂

i remember sending lots of Christmas cards before Canada Post went through the roof. We “might” be having a postal strike here negotiations are happening. I seem to create (? if right word) differently when I write by hand compared to type. I think at times is more organic.

Definitely it seems more organic. I type faster than physical writing so the latter slows things down. Let’s the brain tease things out slower. My fiction head works differently mind, that rushes apace. Something about Christmas cards though demands that special touch.

I like to type so can get up to a good speed. I’m going to explore more of writing by hand (my problem is reading it afterwards). Planning on doing NaNo so won’t do it for that. Still mulling fantasy piece over.

Gosh I could never contemplate writing a novel by hand now! I barely manage to sign my name nowadays lol. Good to hear you’re having a go at NaNo too. I’m not in the right place to do that this time round unfortunately.

I don’t think I would write a novel by hand (hard time reading my writing) but a scene or character description definitely. Just something to get different juices flowing. Sorry you are not in right place to do NaNo this year. Maybe we can go to NaNo Camp together next year!!

We shall see. One issue is resolved now and it’s cost me a month off social media. I so need to get that sorted and do some writing. Get back into the swing of things. I’ve not even done social sharing days either. NaNo Camps are good too. I’ve a few projects that need finishing and they are the perfect place for that!

Thanks Amelia, things are settling now so with any luck I’ll be up and running with a good dose of sharing too!! The bloggers I know have all been really supportive too. Can’t thank you all enough!
