Ingrid Madison Ave nominated me to be participate in TV shows to watch when you have a flu. It is a fun tag where you share your favourite three shows and three treasured heroes from it! That’s it. When I was reading Ingrid’s nomination I was already thinking of shows to share. So………
BBC Sherlock
Sherlock Holmes in current day. Yes he is still self-centred, arrogant, lack of social skills and brilliant. I enjoy both main characters. But I’m going with Dr. Watson for my hero. How he came back from the war damaged and pulled himself together. His kindness to the other characters when Sherlock is abrupt and out the door. He is someone who is steady and I would like in my corner in any situation.
The Bletchley Circle
This had me hooked from the beginning. A group of women code breakers during WWII who are dismissed and sent back to their every day lives at the end of the war. They can’t tell anyone what they did or the incredible skills they have. Until one of them sees a pattern in a series of random murders. The ladies get back together and the rest is well the show. I enjoyed all the women and it was a diverse group. I’m going with Millie Harcourt as my choice. She never married after the war and took off travelling and living an unconventional life-style (at the time). She shows that even then some women marched to their own tune.
Timeless
What happens when a mad man steals a time machine? You get three unlikely characters going after him to prevent disaster. I enjoyed this show as it was also a bit of history. I was introduced to the “Hidden Figures” woman at Langley Research Centre before the movie came out. I found out Hedy Lamarr was not just an actress but an inventor. My hero in this series would be Lucy the historian. She is on the mission to make sure history isn’t changed.
RULES
1. No more than 3 TV-shows.
2. Pick the heroes u like in each show.
3. Add the pictures or gifs, if you like.
4. Humor is welcome.
5. Nominate some folks around – spread the word.
6. Ping-back to my post.

I did see Hidden Figures and I said OMG that woman was in a Timeless episode! The scientist (in Timeless) in the group said “I know someone who can help us – but their in the basement.” hmm….. It was fun to do. Thanks.

I usually watch something that requires little concentration- either Brooklyn 99 because i’ve seen it a few times and episodes are only 23 minutes long (how much can you miss??) and the 1980s Anne of Green Gables because I’ve seen it 100+ times!

Have always enjoyed Anne of Green Gables 1980s was Meaan Follows???. I was told to watch Brooklyn 99 as I reminded someone of a character. Hmm…. I don’t know what that says about me!

I’d watch old 80s/90s series like Lovejoy and Jonathan Creek – basically fluffy crime dramas 😀

I have heard of Lovejoy but not Jonathan Creek hmmm… will have to check out.

This was fun. I remember Bletchley Circle. It was just a single season though, yes? If there’s more, I’d love to find it again. Especially via BBC — no commercials

I think two seasons and one of the main characters changed and a different crime to solve.
