Exploring life with Angel Cards – Freedom

I want to try something new for 2016.  After mulling things over I rediscovered my Angel cards on the top of my bookcase.  I purchased these cards years ago and put in a flower pot I decorated, with the plan of pulling one card out daily and being inspired by that word for the day.  Well, life got in the way, the pot is not next to the door and needless to say my Angel cards have been extremely lonely.

So for 2016 I am going to pull a card out weekly and write about what that word currently means to me.  I would to love to hear your thoughts on the word and even how the meaning of that word has changed over time.

The first thought for me when I think of freedom is financial.  Growing up money was always tight and I learnt early the difference between a want and a need.  Financial freedom does give us more options and opportunities, but if we are not willing to see them or grab those opportunities that freedom is wasted.

Now for me true freedom is letting go of all preconceived ideas of who I am suppose to be, where I should be heading and what I should be doing at this point in my life.  I am working on not letting other people’s or society opinions guide me.  I am not going to be put in a category and let that dictate how my life should be played out.

I think freedom comes from within.  When we feel authentic and can express ourselves creatively. Having a good sense of self, knowing and accepting who we are regardless of what other people think.  The freedom to put ourselves out their.  Knowing we are worth it and having the freedom to say so.
